'Xpressions' is an exhibition of 13 mounted and framed 20x13 lifestyle
portrait images in both black and white and colour, exploring peoples’ expressions
through texture and lighting of their faces, hands and backs. Shot on
film with no digital post-processing, traditional composition and lighting
rules have been stretched, asking the observer to fill in the hidden detail
and to think and view angularly.
The images can be seen for an indefinite period all around the restaurant
in the Trinity Centre, Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge during office
hours and on some evenings; telephone 01223 395800 for exact opening times.
All these Limited Edition Images are on
a Release quantity of 10 and can be purchased framed, mounted and signed

Xpressions images
Seven images of the Trinity Centre were shot as part of an ongoing project
to record contemporary architectural detail in an avant-garde style.
They were further enhanced by using Tungsten balanced Fuji 64T Type II
(ISO 64) slide film. When used in daylight or under halogen lighting,
the colour balance shifts, producing a dramatic and ethereal blue tincture
across the whole image.
The sky dome shots were taken from floor level using a 17mm wide-angle
lens with a polarising filter, and the remaining shots used unfiltered
50-70mm and 70-210mm zoom lenses.
No digital post processing has been applied,
and final printing used the Ciba Chrome process to produce the extremely
high gloss and create a ‘hard metallic’ appearance to the picture elements – the
perfect finish for this style of project.
Each image is mounted behind glass and Arctic white beveled card, and
framed in a low profile, black gloss frame.
All these 18x12 Limited Edition Images are
on a Release quantity of 10 and can be purchased framed, mounted and
signed as seen for £75
each.
